Congratulations coach on the win. Coach, as the winning side what has impressed you the most today and what areas did you feel there is need for an improvement?
I think today the team showed character. Finally we defended well, especially in the second half in terms of reduce the spaces for the team but the first half was very tough for us. We conceded a lot of chances, we lost unnecessary balls in dangerous positions. Today I think was a crazy game, this kind of game don’t like the coaches. I think the second half we improved the team work but in the first half we need to improve because finally we’re conceding a lot of chances to the opponent. We did it well the team showed spirit, character and we got three very important points for us but we need to continue improving.
There will be questions on the refereeing. What’s your take on the penalty decision?
I don’t want to speak about the referees I think it’s difficult for me as a coach to speak about the referees because they have very very hard work to do. It is not easy and I think uh it’s not good for me to speak about the referee only. I spoke about the referees in the last game at home, for assistant, I think I felt like he didn’t respect me. But they can do mistakes, we are doing mistakes, I am doing a lot of mistakes as a coach and I don’t know and I need to check the video. I don’t know if it’s a penalty or not a penalty but I don’t want to speak about the referees right now.
Coach after the red card we were slow on the counter and played backwards. Did we show too much respect to the opposition?
I think we played, we had our chances in the counter attacks. We cannot score two goals so had to clear chances and we can kill the game before to the end of the game but it’s not about respect. Finally the opponent team is playing with a lot of players in front, we need to defend well, it is not about what we wanted to do it’s about what the opponent team is forcing you to do. Finally I need to have more possession of the ball but we defended it well and we suffered sometimes and finally the most important thing is when you are suffering you need to get the points and the victory.
From when you were suffering you need to get the points because you didn’t play well in the first half but still you got three points how happy you are with the way your players have come back despite a difficult start to the season? Two losses but now you have been unbeaten in three matches how does that speak about the mentality and the resilience of the players of your team?
I am very happy because you know we are in a professional team. The result is the most important thing, but I need to analyze as a coach and as a coach from my professional analysis, we need to improve in a lot of things. The result cannot change my mentality. As a coach we need to be ambitious and we need to improve. We are getting points but maybe today we can get one only. As a coach I have a lot of work to do because we need to improve in a lot of things.
What are the main things that you think that you need to improve because we have three important matches ahead. So where are the areas you think that team needs to step up?
We cannot concede a lot of chances to opponent team with our mistakes because finally the opponent team only need us to do a mistake to generate a dangerous situation against us. All of the chances from the opponent team come from our mistakes and we need to be more patient with the ball, we need to try to find balance we need to try to reduce the spaces between the lines because with the ball and without the ball there are a lot of spaces and when you are playing against a team like this, they have players between the lines and they can in the first half maybe they were three four times in equal situation in defense three against three two against two this situation cannot happen. So we need to try to find the balance between attack and defense.
Coach in the first 10 minutes we saw the defense was a bit shaky what was the main cause for that?
Yes we need to try to be more compact. Sometime it is not possible to enjoy during 90 minutes. Sometimes we are going to suffer because the opponent team is playing also but in this kind of moment we need to manage better the game and we need to recover the possession of the ball. We cannot lose the ball and to make transitions continuously because it’s not good for us. Finally if you are recovering the ball losing the ball and then recovering the ball losing the ball repeatedly, it’s difficult for us because when we have a possession of the ball we are playing very open. Finally if you are losing the ball in the second pass the players need to be open they are not open because they are thinking more about the loss of the ball than to keep the possession of the ball. This kind of a situation they generate doubts and this is my job as a coach to improve the team and to give them the tools to manage this kind of situation for us.
Lastly how do you respond to the roaring Juggernauts today?
As always it’s amazing when they are here. I am happy because I know against East Bengal it is always a special game for our supporters and for us. This victory is important for our supporters but during this season my feeling with the supporters is amazing because they are pushing to us a lot and they are coming to the stadium in a big numbers. We are showing to everyone in the Indian Super League that we have a big fanbase and they are very loyal people helping to us.
